Abstract

In this thesis, a model-based specification and design methodology is defined. The methodology is based on use-cases as the foundation for all design steps and a parallel consideration of four design views. Using iteratively refined models, the requirements, structure and behavior of the system are holistically considered. Through reduced efforts for documentation, parallel subsystem design and easier physical analysis, the cycle time of the early specification and concept development can be reduced and the necessary effort minimized. The methodology is fully applied for a hybrid fuel-cell drivetrain. All needed simulation models and tools are fully implemented.
